Obituary: Eileen Fern Bane, 80 - March 21, 2017
Eileen Fern Bane, 80, of Minonk, passed away at 10:15 p.m. Tuesday (March 21, 2017) at Heritage Health, Minonk.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A private graveside service will be in Dana Cemetery, Dana. Calvert-Johnson & Froelich Memorial Home, Minonk, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Eileen was born April 5, 1936, in Rockford, the daughter of Theron and Creola Mae Bradshaw Barnard. She married John V. Bane Sr. on Oct. 13, 1957, in Dana. He preceded her in death on Feb. 7, 1996.

Surviving are her children, John V. (Darlene) Bane Jr., Dana; Lorie (Jeff) Keller, Minonk; James (Nancy Leonard) Bane, Manville; and Linda (Anthony) Booth, Toluca; grandchildren, Healy (Justin) Immel, Brittany (Tony) Fiorentini, John C. (Stephanie) Bane, Jacob (Caitlyn) Bane, Brandon (Kim Janssen) Swartz, Courtney (Russell) Callahan, Josh Keller, Zach Keller, Jessica Bane, Nathan Leonard, Anthony Cook, Abby Cook, Colby Booth and Camren Booth; and four great-grandchildren, Dexton Immel, Logan Bane, Lily Cook and Liam Cook.

Also surviving are six brothers, Dick, Ronnie, David, Louis, Dale and Gary, and three sisters, Phyllis Bohm, Susan Scott and Carol Tucker.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John V. Sr.; three brothers, Clayton, Lyle and Mike; and a sister, Neva.

Eileen was a member of Minonk United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. She was a former member of Royal Neighbors of America, and was an assistant leader of the Flanagan Ever-ready 4-H club.

She was a farmer's wife and loved helping out on the farm whenever she could, including this past fall, hauling grain. She was an avid Fieldcrest sports fan and enjoyed watching her grandkids in their various sports. She was also an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.

Eileen was a loving mom, grandma (MeMe) and great-grandma (GG) and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Our family would like to extend all our gratitude and appreciation to St. James hospital staff, Pontiac, and Heritage Health staff, Minonk, for the amazing love and care they provided during this difficult time.
