WENONA — Susan L. Baker, 53, of 602 W. 2nd North St., Wenona, died at 3:08 p.m. Saturday (Aug. 28, 2010) in her home after a lengthy illness.

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Mary’s Church, Wenona, with the Rev Luke Poczworowski, OFM Conv., officiating. Burial will be in Minonk Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the church. Hurst Funeral Home, Wenona, is handling arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Mrs. Baker was born in Streator on Feb. 14, 1957, daughter of Edward and Betty Gualandi Myszkowski. She married Terry Baker on Dec. 16, 2005.

Susan was a caregiver to her parents. She was a waitress for various restaurants, including managing the restaurants at Tall Oak Golf Club in Toluca and Streator Country Club.

Susan enjoyed crafts and decorating and tending to people’s homes. She was loved by family members and friends.

She was a member of St. Mary’s Church and the church choir.

Mrs. Baker is survived by her parents, Wenona; her husband, Terry, Wenona; two stepsons, Aaron Baker, Fond du Lac, Wis., and Michael Baker, Peru; two stepgrandchildren, Haley Baker and Jaydyn Baker; two brothers, Greg (Connie) Myszkowski, Savoy, and Tony (Debby) Myszkowski, Peoria; one sister, Kathleen (Danny) Steffen, Congerville; her mother-in-law, Rachel Thorpe, Minonk; two sisters-in-law, Barb (Roger) Petri and Judy Davis, both of Minonk; two brothers-in-law, Kenny (Karen) Baker, Minonk, and Allen (Paula) Baker, Rutland; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Lloyd Baker, and one stepgrandson, Tyler.

Pallbearers will be Neil Stephens, Chip Stetzler, Kevin Myszkowski, Michael Baker, and T.J. and Nick Nelson.
