Elaine J. Zivney, 53 - January 27, 2008

MINONK - Elaine J. Zivney, 53, of 736 W. Fifth St., Minonk, died at 10:28 p.m. Thursday (Jan. 24, 2008) at OSF St. Joseph's Medical Center, Bloomington.

A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Minonk. The Rev. Daniel Gansch-Boythe and Pam Gansch-Boythe will officiate. A celebration of Elaine's life will take place following the memorial service at the Roanoke American Legion. Ruestman-Harris Funeral Home, Minonk, is handling arrangements.

Elaine was born Aug. 4, 1954, at Pontiac, a daughter of Roy and Velma Lewis Moritz. She married Jeffrey P. Zivney on Sept. 15, 1973, in Benson. He survives.

Also surviving are three daughters, Mykal (Mark) Stephens, Rutland; Jackie Zivney, Minonk; and Joleen (Ray) Hudson, Minonk; three grandchildren, Justin Stephens, Jeffrey Stephens and Rebecca Hudson; one sister, Janice Walker, Roanoke; her mother and father-in-law, Ray and Emily Zivney, Sun City, Ariz.; and her chocolate Lab, Jake.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Elaine graduated from Roanoke-Benson High School in 1972. She then graduated from Illinois Central College, where she received her LPN. She was employed as a nurse for Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Minonk.

She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Minonk. She also was the former chief of the Minonk Ambulance Squad and was the vice president of Zivney Cheese, Minonk.

She enjoyed making and painting ceramics. Most of all, Elaine enjoyed her family, husband, children and grandchildren. She always put others before herself.
