William R. "Pat" Topolski, 91 William R. "Pat" Topolski, 91, of the Illinois Veterans Home, LaSalle, formerly of Minonk, died at 11:22 a.m. Wednesday (May 21, 2003) at the home. His Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Minonk, the Rev. Dan Wilder officiating. Burial will be in Secor Cemetery, Secor. Visitation will be from 9 to 10:45 a.m. Friday at Calvert & Froelich Memorial Home, Minonk. Mr. Topolski was born March 21, 1912, in Wenona, a son of Joseph and Frances Kowkekuski Topolski. He married Anita E. Hohl on June 9, 1940, in Nashua, Iowa. She died Nov. 30, 1995. His closest survivors are two nieces and two nephews, including Bernie (Marcia) Orsen, Streator. He was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters. Mr. Topolski was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion and VFW posts in Minonk. Before his retirement, he was a machine operator at Caterpillar Tractor Co. for 28 years and worked part-time for a number of years at Folkers Memorial Home, Minonk.
