Marion E. Petri, 78 Marion E. Petri, 78, formerly of Minonk, died at his home at 10625 Back Plaines Drive, Las Vegas, NV 89134, on Nov. 17, 2003. A memorial service was held on Nov. 20 in Las Vegas. He was born on Oct. 13, 1925, a son of Michael and Sarah Hock Petri, near Minonk. He married Peggy Scott of Santa Paula, Calif., on Feb. 24, 1947. He was preceded in death by triplets in infancy; four brothers; and one sister. Surviving are his wife; three daughters; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four brothers, Eugene (Em), Norbert (Dorothy) and Joseph (Ruth), all of Minonk; and Virgil (Jeanne), of Hot Springs Village, Ark.; and one sister, Mary (Jim) Ford of Minonk. He joined the Navy on Dec. 10, 1943, and served in the South Central Pacific, being honorably discharged on May 3, 1946. He worked in California and then moved his family back to Minonk for a time, working with his brothers and they formed Petri Bros. Construction Co. He later moved his family back to California and became a master electrician. He retired in 1990 and moved to Las Vegas, where he enjoyed being with his family and grandchildren. He was an avid golfer.
