The Minonk City Council approved an ordinance setting the time
and place for public hearings on the proposed TIF III district in
Section Six north of Minonk. The proposed TIF will be located on
land which will be developed for the proposed Minonk Raceway
park. The Joint Review Board meeting with all tax bodies will be
on July 8th at 2:00 p.m. in City Hall.
The special meeting of the council to hold the TIF public hearing
will
be on August 17th beginning at 7:00 p.m. in City Hall. These
hearings are required by law before the TIF agreement can be
finalized. After completion of the TIF hearings, the council will
meet on September 6th to pass the ordinances that approve the
TIF. This will allow the raceway developers to proceed with
construction of the raceway. According to CIty Administrator
Trent Smith, the raceway developers are on schedule with their plans to
construct the raceway.
Other News
The council appointed Kimmel Jenkins as Ambulance Chief and Tonya Minz as Assistant Chief.
The mayor extended the appointment of Chief of Police Bill Butler until the first week of August.
The Fieldcrest Booster club ask the city for permission to build an 8 X
12 shed next to the football concesssion stand at Veterans Park for
storage of food and other items.
