The Minonk City Council approved a TIF grant of $5428.57 to Grosenbach Grocery which is 50% of the $10,857.14 repair bill for 2 refrigerator units that broke down last winter. In other business the council decided to wait and submit bids for a warning siren. Two quotes were received on the sirens, one for $20,349.20 from Ragan Communications and another for $22,204.60 from Radicom. However, Alderman Russell Ruestman said the warning siren should be put out for bids so as to conform to the city code.

The council approved the appointment of Jonathan Stears to the Minonk Zoning Board and also approved the Prevailing Wage Ordinance and adopted the code revisions of 2016.

City Administrator Austin Edmondson gave an update on the budget. He said the Water Fund is in negative territory with a loss of $7,208.74 while the Sewer Fund shows a smaller loss of $3,078.66. Also, the expenses related to the Elm Court sewer issue will cause a spike in expenses. The Ambulance Fund deficit is $26,940.80, just two months into the year.

The council voted to cancel the next council meeting on July 3rd due to Mayor Koos not being available for the meeting and also due to the July 4th events.
