City Approves TIF Application

The Minonk City Council approved an application for TIF II funding from Jack and Joan Jochums for a façade improvement to their rental building located at 552 North Chestnut Street (Shear Design—Patsy May). The proposed project will remove the existing facade and construct a new awning with soffit and fascia and new steel siding. Total cost of the project is $4,407.93. Mayor Bill Koos said that TIF funding will cover 50% of the cost for an amount of $2,203.97.
New Parks & Rec Appointments
Mayor Koos announced the resignation of Parks and Rec Board member Brian Orabutt. Upon the Mayor's recommendation the Council approved three new members, Stephanie Fuchs, Robert Hochecker, and Jamie Ruestman to the Parks and Rec Board.
Mayor's Comments
• Extended the City’s condolences to City employee Jim Brown whose mother died this past weekend.
• Announced that there would be a Special City Council Meeting on Tuesday March 11, 2008 at 5 p.m. to conduct interviews for the position of City Administrator.
• City Auditor will be present at the Finance Committee meeting on Monday March 10, 2008 at 5 p.m.
