The Minonk CIty Council had to table the approval of two important ordinances required for the proposed storm water project. The approval of ordinances to vacate an alley and to acquire property required a super majority of five councilmen. However, aldermen Nick Fiorini and Sean Cunningham were absent at the meeting which meant the ordinances will be tabled until the next council meeting. Ordinance 2011-02 would vacate the alley near Mill Street and Ordinance 2011-03 provided for the purchase of property around Mill Street from Larry Hill. Mr. Hill was on the agenda to discuss the Mill Street issues. However, Hill said he changed his mind and decided not to address the issues when he was asked to speak.
In other business, attorneys Nicholas Grojean and Jeffrey Jurgens representing the City's new attorney, Ancel Glink, were introduced to the council.
The council approved the appointment of Alderman Nick Fiorini as the City Council Representative to the Parks & Recreation Board replacing Alderman Gerald Fortner.
The council approved a TIF 2 grant of $92.00 to Dave Uphoff, owner of Datatron, Inc., for facade improvements to his office at 168 W. Fifth Street.
