The Woodford County Historical Society is going to publish a hard-back book to include a picture and an article of up to 150 words of text on the military experience of each and every Woodford County citizen who has served his or her country from the 1800s to the present. If you would like to include yourself, relatives or friends please submit the information to Veterans' Book, Woodford County Historical Society, 112 N. Main St., Eureka, II., 61530 by April 1, 2010. You may write your article on the
enclosed form using the guideline that is given. If you need more forms you may make copies.
There are only two criteria for inclusion in this book: the person must have received a paycheck from Uncle Sam for military-type service and have lived in Woodford County for at least a week. Anyone who was not a resident of the county but is buried in one of its cemeteries is eligible. There is no charge for being included in this book which should be ready for delivery in November of 2011. Let us all take part in this worthy endeavor.
