The First Presbyterian Church of Minonk, Illinois was organized May   3rd,1857, eight years before the town of Minonk was officially organized.  The existing Church is unique in that if has not had any significant architectural alterations since being built.  The interior is adorned with large Greek columns, stained glass windows and a massive glass dome, as well as a large antique pipe organ which is still used during worship.

Fellowship is an important part of our Church life.

You do not need to be a member in order to join us for worship, or to attend one of our Church events.  So please join us!

Our heritage, and much of what we believe, began with the French lawyer John Calvin (1509-1564), whose writings crystallized much of the Reformed thinking that came before him.

Presbyterians are distinctive in two major ways: they adhere to a pattern of religious thought known as Reformed theology and a form of government that stresses the active, representational leadership of both ministers and church members.

The order of a Sunday worship service in a Presbyterian church is determined by the pastor and the session, the church's governing body. It generally includes prayer, music, Bible reading and a sermon based upon scripture. The Sacraments, a time of personal response/offering, and a sharing of community concerns are also parts of worship.
