Comments log for user ID jaf11 News Subject: City Council meeting cancelled due to a lack of a quorum - 04/21/2008 - As a citizen of Minonk, it truly upsets me to know some of our alderman of this city do not respect the position on the city council that they ran for and were elected to!  I would like to see all the records for each alderman on their attendance printed in the paper and on this website so the public knows how their ward is being represented by the person you voted for.  If you do not wanat to do the job, please do not run for office.  I know this is a thankless job and alot of time from their schedules, but they knew this before they asked for yours and my vote.  I for one will not vote for any of these alderman again. News Subject: City approves deficit budget - 05/01/2008 - This is in response to Emo's comments that he just can't keep to himself.  I am tired of hearing nothing but negative comments from you about this city and the city officials.  Why don't you come clean and tell us who you are and why don't you run for office, if you think you can do better?  Step up to the plate and show us what you can do! News Subject: City approves deficit budget - 05/01/2008 - I think the city is spending our money wisely tihsho, and as far as the mayor and his common sense, he seems to have alot.  The garbage contract has upset alot of people, but thank your alderman they voted for it, not the mayor, he has no vote! News Subject: City replaces curb side recyling with central recycling bin - 05/11/2008 - I think the residents of this town should attend a meeting when there is something on the agenda that interest them.  I also think that our alderman should show up for the meetings and than the mayor can have a quorum.  In my ward the lady alderman very seldom shows up and she is representing me, I voted for her.  How sad!  I know some of the other alderman don't show up to, do you let the rest of the council know you aren't coming?  How can our city government work when the alderman don't even respect the people that voted for them. News Subject: City discusses City Administrator Job Selection Process - 05/26/2008 - There you go again emo, saying things about the city employees not being able to handle the updates on the website!  How do you know this is so?  I would like to know what the city employees and the city council have done to you to make you say so many negative things about them.  If you don't have something nice to say about people, don't say anything at all!! News Subject: New Garbage Pick-up Day Announced - 06/01/2008 - I think this a great ideal with the garbage!  Hats off the the mayor and the city council.  I have a question for anyone that can answer it, who do I contact about the maintance at Millennium Park?  I walk out there sometimes and there is a whole in the pavement near the pond.  This hole has been there for several years and is getting bigger, I am afraid someone will step in it and get hurt.  Also, I would like to know who takes care of the mowing.  I would like to see the grass clippings blown off the pavement when they are done mowing and maybe some weed eating around the trees.  This is a nice park so let's maintain it the way it should be.  I appreciate it if anyone can answer my question.  News Subject: City starts legal proceeding against violator of zoning law - 06/09/2008 - Emo, are you talking about the same Jason "Buck" Buchanan I know?  INTELLIGENT!!!!  He was an alderman for the city and when I attended meetings he never added anything to the meetings that showed me he was intelligent.  Maybe he's changed since he got off the council, but I doult it. News Subject: City starts legal proceeding against violator of zoning law - 06/09/2008 - In response to Russell's email, I attended quite a few of the meetings that Mr. Buchanan served on as alderman for this city.  From the beginning, I wondered what he was doing on the council.  In the end he resigned from all committies and just sat there and said nothing.  I can tell you, if he had been representing my ward I would of asked him to resign his seat. I have been active in this community and done things to make it a better place to raise a family in.  I am just voiceing my opinion on what I think of Mr. Buchanan.  I have read many comments about the Mayor and the rest of the Council, but I did not see you come to defend them Russell.  Why did you not denfend them when people made remarks about them and did not sign their name?
