Walnut Sticky Buns

Submitted by Barb Petri

Bread Machine recipe:

Dough

3/4 cup milk
2 tbs. margarine or butter
1 egg
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 cup sugar
2 1/2 cups bread flour
1 1/2 tsp. rapid or quick yeast

Put dough ingredients in machine and start the dough cycle. Mix filling ingredients together and divide in half. Distribute half of the filling among 12 muffin pan cups which have been sprayed with nonstick vegetable spray and set aside. Remove dough from machine and roll into a large rectangle. Flour the work surface and /or the dough if necessary to prevent sticking. Spread remaining filling over dough and roll into a jelly roll starting with the wide end. Cut roll into 12 equal pieces and place in muffin cups on top of first half of filling. Let rise in a warm, draft-free location for 35 to 45 minutes.

Bake in a preheated 375 degree oven for 20 minutes. Turn pan over to release buns while still hot.

Filling

6 tbs. butter or margarine
2 1/2 tbs. honey
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. all purpose or bread flour
2 cups chopped walnuts

Melt butter, add remaining ingredients and mix together
